There is a multitude of great things to do around Sussex and within easy distance from our campsite. Whether you feel like a bit of rambling, more serious hiking through woodland, relaxed fishing or riding, it can all be found in our local area within a short drive.

Fletching – 3 miles – 1.5 hours
RIDING
EAST VIEW RIDING CENTRE
Offering riding on the Ashdown Forest, quiet country lanes and lakeland bridle paths or on our own 42 acre farm. Catering for riders aged 7+ from absolute beginners to expert riders. This is the stables we suggest are the best and not just because they are the closest, they are very friendly and helpful.

CYCLING
The South Downs has something for every kind of cyclist to enjoy and explore. As well as the famous South Downs Way to explore there are 1,200 km of car-free bridleways across the National Park, miles of leafy country lanes and old railway trails including the Downs Link and Centurions Way.

SWIMMING
We have a stream that runs through our site which is for paddling.
Pell’s pool in Lewes, outdoor pool, advance booking required.
Saltdean Lido.
River Ouse from Isfield, you can park at Barcombe Mills and swim there or the Anchor Inn (where you can hire boats, eat and drink at the pub) and walk upstream and swim there.
Sea swimming – Tide mills, Seaford head nature reserve is a gorgeous walk and if tide is high can swim. Seven sisters/Cuckmere haven is a gorgeous walk and you can swim in sea at the end.

Birling Gap – Great rock pooling and beautiful scenery
Brighton/Hove beaches is another option but parking is trickier and quite bustling and busy.

SUP: STAND UP PADDLEBOARDING
SUP with Moxie Unleashed
Paddleboarding has seen an absolute boom over the last few years and it’s easy to see why. In just a 2hr SUP Intro session complete novices can be standing up and paddling, and then once you’re up, you’re hooked and you’re off.
SUP is easily accessible and suitable for people of all ages and abilities, we’ve taught from 7yrs through to people well into their 80s. It’s also a great all-inclusive activity for the whole family to learn and progress together, even your dog can join in!

If you’d like some help getting involved in activities starting from Wowo, there is a local company called
‘So Sussex’ that offer guided activity tours around sussex.
The owner is called Nigel and very friendly, he can pick you up from the campsite and then
go on any activities that you’d like to do. Whether it is cycling, fishing, hiking woodland activities and mushroom walks, he can show you the best to do around the area.
