FOREST SCHOOL WORKSHOP

WILD IN THE WOODS - FOREST SCHOOL INSPIRED SESSIONS

Wild In The Woods is run by Laura Warren a trained Forest School Practitioner, outdoor educator and artist.

As a qualified Level 3 Forest School Leader training with the Sussex Wildlife Trust, She has over 10 years experience of working with young people of all ages and families in the woods and loves the joy of meeting new faces and discovering the natural world together.

Connecting children to the land and wildlife through the turning of the seasons with crafts, play, exploration, using our senses and fun to build resilience, creativity and an interest in our natural world.

Laura has set up and run various outdoor groups around Lewes and in East Sussex, works with many other local outdoor organisations, talented educators and practitioners and is busy with Woodland Playgroups, school sessions, after school clubs, holiday clubs, parties and private sessions.

Having grown up on a farm in Glynde, East Sussex not too far from Wowo, she has a deep connection to the countryside of the South Downs. Free to roam as a child she learnt about local flora and fauna as well as made fires and dens, experiencing nature as therapy and a place of calm and adventure. She feels it is important to share a similar experience with others, with a real need now more than ever to facilitate how to respect and care for the natural world which supports us.

With a background in the visual arts, training in horticulture and working in environmental education Laura has a wealth of experience to bring to her sessions and groups, bringing her creative, calm, patient and humorous energy to all she encounters.
